Rare disorders ========== Contact a Family has been involved in a new linking project funded by the Headley Trust. We have been actively contacting families who we know have a child with a particular medical condition, where there is no support group in the UK. We have then been arranging telephone conferences so that a group of parents can speak to others across the UK who have been affected. The first two conferences have been held for Duane Syndrome and Norrie Disease. These two groups enjoyed the experience and will be meeting again, so if you are affected by either condition and would like to join in, please e-mail mailto:liz@cafamily.org.uk We are also starting to look for families affected by Townes-Brockes Syndrome, Henoch Schonlein Purpura and McCune Albright Syndrome. Again, do let Liz know if you are affected by any of these conditions and would like to speak to other families. 10. Parents Week ========== 20th October - 26th October is Parents Week, organised by the National Family and Parenting Institute. There are events in many parts of the UK, such as Family Fun Days, storytelling in libraries and so on.
